The Isle of Man TT (Tourist Trophy) race meeting takes place in the first two weeks of June in 2023. It uses a 37-mile road course and features events on and off the track. Some 20,000 riders make their way to the Island every summer to watch this iconic event, which celebrated its centenary in 2007.

In 2023, qualifying week takes place from Monday 29th May through to Friday 2nd June with daily sessions held in the evening from 6.30pm through to 9pm. During the practice sessions the riders will test a variety of different machines so you will see lots of different of bikes on track. In previous years unofficial lap records have been broken and you will see all the top riders at work in preparation for race week.

Race week is the second week of the festival and races are held from Saturday 3rd June- Saturday 109th June with rest days on Monday & Thursday.

The circuit consists of closed public roads and is open when there is no racing or practice taking place. You too can ride the course, but be aware that regular traffic will also be on the road. The mountain section from Ramsey to Douglas is one way with speed limits in place.

The official travel website of the Isle of Man TT is here. Some options for accommodation can now be found here. All ferries to and from the Isle of Man are operated by the  Isle of Man Steam Packet Company. Ferries cross to the Island from Liverpool, Birkenhead and Heysham from the mainland. There are also crossings to the Island from both Dublin and Belfast.

We have been advised that accommodation and ferry bookings are taken up to 12 months in advance. Capacity on the ferries is also limited and is released in batches throughout the year. Further capacity is then released (usually in early March) from bookings that have not been paid up/completed by the end of January and so cancelled. There is often stand-by capacity available for both passengers and motorcycles but this cannot be booked in advance, it is a matter of turning up at the port and getting in the queue.

All that said we have also seen customers able to obtain both  ferry tickets and accommodation at very short notice in the weeks just prior to the TT so we suggest keep trying even if you are told that there is no capacity in the first instance.

A downloadable spectator’s guide to the TT is available.
